According to a former WWE star, the company likely tested Oba Femi for attitude problems early in his career.
Before becoming ‘The Ruler’, Oba Femi struggled to get a win during the first part of his WWE career. Femi made his TV debut on NXT Level Up in November 2022 in a losing effort to Dante Chen. The losses kept coming over the following months, with defeats to Xyon Quinn, Von Wagner, and Javier Bernal.
However, when Femi hit NXT in April 2022, the tide turned, and he dominated everyone in his path, going on a 30-match win streak that included a record-breaking 273-day reign as the North American Champion.
Recently, a social media user brought up Femi’s early losses, and former WWE star Donovan Dijak weighed in to say that it was likely a test. He explained that WWE often quietly checked whether stars had an attitude problem, particularly if they had plans for them in the future.
Dijak was one of Oba Femi’s early victims, but says he has never heard anything negative about the star, and described him as a “pleasure” to work with.
“I don’t even know if this is true or not, but it wouldn’t surprise me. WWE will often quietly test wrestlers to see if they have an attitude problem, especially if they have big plans in store. Oba obviously passed with flying colors, I never heard anything even remotely negative and he was a pleasure to work with.”

WWE Hall Of Famer Advised Oba Femi To Learn To Say “No”
With Oba Femi likely poised for a quick rise through the ranks of WWE, Mark Henry has advised him to learn to say “no”. The WWE Hall of Famer explained that Femi will be presented with creative ideas that won’t be good for him in the future, and he should be able to express his concerns constructively. Henry said it wasn’t about being difficult, but being cautious about his development.
