Ex-WWE NIL talent AJ Ferrari is facing more legal troubles.
The heavyweight wrestler was arrested over the weekend on a outstanding warrant, fleeing from justice. He was originally pulled over for speeding but was arrested for evading arrest last year. He will be extradited to Texas to face the warrant’s charge.
“The Nebraska Athletic Department is aware of the arrest of AJ Ferrari on Friday night related to an outstanding warrant in Texas. We are awaiting more information from legal authorities involved and have no additional comment at this time,” Nebraska athletics said in a statement reports The Daily Nebraskan.
Ferrari was dismissed from the Oklahoma State’s wrestling team after being accused of sexual battery in 2022. That charge was eventually dropped. He was dropped from that NIL affiliation after his dismissal from the Oklahoma State.
In 2021, Ferrari was one of 15 NCAA athletes who signed a deal with WWE through the NIL (Next In Line) program.
Ferrari is an American collegiate wrestler best known for winning the 2021 NCAA Division I national championship at 197 pounds for Oklahoma State as a freshman.
