A former WWE head writer has slammed Triple H‘s creative leadership as the “worst in the history of WWE.”
Former WWE writer Vince Russo has delivered a scathing assessment of the current WWE CCO’s tenure as head of creative, calling it the worst creative period in the company’s history. Speaking on Talk Is Jericho with Chris Jericho, Russo criticised the current direction of WWE programming and argued that The Game’s leadership has failed to live up to expectations.
“Bro, this is the worst creative in the history of the WWE. This is worse than Stephanie [McMahon]… ‘Cause Triple H is the politician. Triple H is in the seat and now we’re seeing what Triple H can do. And let me tell you something, bro. What he can do is not pretty.”
Triple H Took Over WWE’s Creative Control After Vince McMahon Left In 2024
The 14-time world champion has overseen WWE’s creative direction since taking full control following Vince McMahon’s departure in 2024. McMahon stepped down after allegations of sex trafficking were made against him, before later reaching a settlement in the civil case brought by Janel Grant.
Russo has been a frequent critic of WWE’s creative product under ‘The King of Kings’ and has repeatedly voiced his opinions on the company’s current booking direction.
