A former WWE Champion has said they believe an in-ring return is “coming soon.”
Former WWE Women’s Champion Candice Michelle believes an in-ring return could be on the horizon, revealing that her backstage role with TNA is helping prepare her for a comeback. Michelle, who joined TNA as an agent and producer earlier this year, has not wrestled since 2017. Speaking to The Wrestling Classic, she said working behind the scenes has allowed her to reconnect with the wrestling business while building towards an eventual return.
“You know, I think it’s coming soon. I started my comeback as an agent, which is really cool because I get to relearn the philosophy. I get to learn the behind-the-scenes, slowly getting my feet wet a little bit. And pretty soon we’ll slide on in.”
TNA officially announced Michelle’s signing in March, although she revealed she had already begun working for the company in January after being offered the opportunity by Tommy Dreamer. After shadowing Dreamer for one event, she quickly transitioned into a full-time agent role.
Former WWE Women’s Champion Candice Michelle Thinks Her Joining TNA Is A Step Towards An In-Ring Return
Candice Michelle has previously spoken about her desire to wrestle again, describing her move to TNA as the first step towards an in-ring comeback. She has also said she does not want to return simply to chase another championship, but because she still has more to offer.
While Michelle is optimistic about wrestling again, TNA has yet to announce any plans for her return. No opponent, match, or date has been confirmed.
