A former WWE Champion and Hall of Famer could soon be settling into a regular role with Juggalo Championship Wrestling.
According to Dave Meltzer in the Wrestling Observer Newsletter, JCW has been in discussions with John Bradshaw Layfield about becoming a full-time performer on its weekly JCW Lunacy. The former WWE Champion is already familiar to JCW audiences and is currently scheduled to appear at StrangleMania during WrestleMania 42 weekend on April 17 at the Horseshoe Casino in Las Vegas.
JBL has been an increasingly visible figure on the independent scene since 2024, making appearances for AAA, Game Changer Wrestling, Major League Wrestling, and TNA Wrestling, often delivering his trademark Clothesline from Hell. He had also been pencilled in for TNA Slammiversary 2025 before those plans were ultimately changed. Now, JCW appears positioned as a possible long-term landing spot.
Besides WWE Hall Of Famer JBL, Who Else Is Set To Join JCW?
Dave Meltzer also reports that Juggalo Championship Wrestling is targeting additional veteran names from the 1990s era. Former ECW personality Joel Gertner is expected to come in as a manager, while ex-WCW announcer Scott Hudson is also slated to join. In addition, Jonathan Coachman is set to become a regular on JCW programming.
Behind the scenes, Vince Russo is believed to be a driving force behind the recruitment push. Russo became an investor in JCW in 2025 and is currently involved in the booking of the company, with the promotion leaning into established names and nostalgia appeal as it looks to grow its profile.
