Former WWE Intercontinental Champion Santino Marella says he is physically capable of wrestling again and wants to return to the ring so his seven-year-old son can see him compete live. Speaking with Cody Rhodes on What Do You Wanna Talk About?, Marella credited stem cell treatments, PRP and red light therapy with improving his condition, saying:
“My wrestling career ended because I was not capable. I’m capable again.”
Marella’s in-ring career effectively ended following neck surgery in 2014 and subsequent problems with degenerative discs in his lower back. Now working as TNA’s Director of Authority, Marella said his involvement in producing, coaching and creating moments has helped him fall in love with wrestling again.
TikTok star Matt Mathews is set to make a guest appearance on WWE Raw when the show visits his hometown of Birmingham, Alabama on September 7. WWE has not announced what role Mathews will have during the episode at Legacy Arena. The comedian and social media personality has previously made two NXT appearances, first serving as a judge for the “Mr NXT” pageant in June before later becoming involved in a match that saw Hank & Tank defeat Channing Lorenzo and Uriah Connors. Mathews has nearly eight million TikTok followers and originally gained widespread attention during the pandemic through his comedic “farm chore” videos.
Donovan Dijak says he would be open to returning to WWE and reuniting with former MLW tag team partner Baron Corbin under the right circumstances. Speaking on TheDaleStars, Dijak said he hopes the pair can work together again after their run as The Skyscrapers lasted only around a year and produced approximately 12 or 13 matches. He acknowledged uncertainty over who owns the rights to The Skyscrapers name but stressed that he remains open to continuing the partnership in any promotion. Dijak and Corbin first teamed in MLW in 2025 and captured the World Tag Team Championship. Corbin has since returned to WWE, where he defeated Trick Williams at SummerSlam to become United States Champion.
