Former WWE Champion Raj Dhesi, known to fans as Jinder Mahal, has launched a new financial education series to help professional wrestlers navigate long-term planning.
Raj Dhesi introduced the series on Instagram with a video explaining retirement account options available to wrestlers, who are typically classified as independent contractors. He highlighted that many performers are responsible for managing their own finances, including retirement savings, without the support structures found in traditional employment.
The initiative is designed to provide practical guidance for wrestlers at all stages of their careers, addressing an often overlooked aspect of the industry.
Dhesi’s focus on financial literacy comes amid ongoing discussions about wrestler classification and the responsibilities that come with it. As independent contractors, performers must handle their own taxes, savings, and long-term financial planning.
Jinder Mahal’s WWE Title Reign
A former WWE Champion, Raj Dhesi, known in WWE as Jinder Mahal, held the title for 170 days in 2017, becoming the first wrestler of Indian heritage to achieve that milestone. Mahal captured the title from Randy Orton at Backlash 2017 and defended the title five times before he lost it to AJ Styles on the November 7 episode of SmackDown that same year.
Since stepping away from full-time competition, he has pursued various business ventures, positioning himself to share insight with others in the industry. The series aims to help wrestlers better prepare for their futures, though further details on upcoming topics have yet to be announced.
