A former AEW champion is preparing to step back into the ring after months on the sidelines, with a title unification match already set for their return.
Former AEW Women’s World Champion Thunder Rosa is scheduled to compete at Riot Cabaret Pro Wrestling’s April 28 show, marking her first announced match since July 2025. Thunder Rosa, who has been out of action due to an undisclosed injury, will defend the promotion’s Women’s Championship against Riot Legacy Champion Alexxis Falcon in a title unification bout.
The match will see both titles on the line and is expected to be one of the featured attractions on the April card.
Rosa addressed her absence on social media, making it clear that she still considers herself an active in-ring performer.
“I want to remind everyone that I am an active wrestler. My time away has been long, but I am ready to return and prove why I am the champion. See you in April.”
When Did Thunder Rosa Last Compete In AEW?
Prior to her hiatus, Thunder Rosa wrestled on three consecutive days, competing on AEW Collision, ROH Supercard of Honor, and AEW All In Texas over the same weekend from July 10 to July 12. Reports in January 2026 indicated that she had resumed training, with the goal of working full-length, 30-minute matches once she returned to action.
Throughout her recovery, Rosa has regularly shared updates on her physical therapy and training sessions. The April 28 event will mark her first scheduled bout since her injury, with the unification match against Falcon set to headline her in-ring comeback.
