An AEW star has sparked speculation about their future with the company after removing all references to All Elite Wrestling from their social media profile.
Former TNT Champion Sammy Guevara updated his X bio this week, deleting any mention of AEW before drawing further attention to the change with a short post that simply read:
“New bio.”
The move quickly led to speculation among fans that Guevara could be preparing to leave AEW, although neither he nor the company has commented on the change.
Guevara was one of the company’s first signings when the promotion launched in 2019 and quickly established himself as one of the company’s “Four Pillars” alongside MJF, Darby Allin and Jack Perry. During his time with the promotion, he has won the TNT Championship three times, as well as holding the Interim TNT Championship, while feuding with the likes of Chris Jericho, Cody Rhodes, Eddie Kingston and MJF.
Despite his success in AEW, Guevara has made only sporadic appearances on the company’s television programming over the past year, instead spending much of his time competing for Ring of Honor.
Sammy Guevara Addressed His Limited AEW TV Time
The social media update comes shortly after Sammy Guevara addressed his limited AEW television time during an interview with MuscleManMalcolm, in which he made it clear that decisions about his appearances are ultimately made by Tony Khan.
“Honestly, man, you know, that’s obviously not my call, but like whatever they do decide to call, like I think the last time I was on AEW was when I wrestled Darby for the world title. I was given, what, a couple of hours’ notice, and I just tried to do the best that I could, you know?” Guevara said. “And so anytime I go out there, I try to give you a show like you’ve never seen before because that’s what I do. I’m Sammy Guevara, the Spanish God. I think I’m the best.”
While Guevara’s updated social media profile has prompted plenty of discussion online, there has been no indication from either the wrestler or AEW that his contractual status with the promotion has changed.
