A former AEW Champion is now officially a WWE signee.
Powerhouse Hobbs has officially signed with WWE, marking a major next step in his career following the end of his run with All Elite Wrestling.
The news was first reported by Sean Ross Sapp of Fightful Select, who confirmed that Hobbs is now under WWE contract after spending the past five years with AEW. During his time there, Hobbs established himself as a dominant presence, capturing the TNT Title and the World Trios Championships.
Hobbs’ final AEW appearance came on the Collision Maximum Carnage edition, where The Opps, Hobbs, Samoa Joe, and Katsuyori Shibata, dropped the World Trios Titles to “Hangman” Adam Page and JetSpeed’s Kevin Knight and Mike Bailey.
Fuel was added to speculation surrounding Hobbs’ WWE future on January 20, when the company filed a trademark for the name “Royce Keys,” a move that has already sparked discussion about a possible new ring name ahead of his debut.
