A former AEW Women’s World Champion is getting ready to return to the ring.
Thunder Rosa has been out of action since competing in the Women’s Casino Gauntlet match at All In Texas back in July. At the time, it was reported in the Wrestling Observer Newsletter that Rosa had suffered an injury, which was not thought to be serious.
In an update in October, Rosa told fans her rehab was going well, and she was expecting to return to action “fairly soon.”
“Right now, I’m just focusing on continuing my rehab from the injuries I had a couple of months ago. And I have really good news — everything is going really well. So, I’m expecting to return to the ring fairly soon.”
That return looks to be getting closer, as La Mera Mera has revealed in a new Instagram story, that she is now in activiely training for her comeback
“I’m training for my comeback. Once again, it’s all good. It’s 80 degrees here in Texas…..I trained for, so far, for about an hour and started sweating 20 minutes in. Thanks to Melissa, she’s one of my strength and conditioning trainers. She’s been freaking awesome.”

Thunder Rosa Was Previously Stripped Of AEW Women’s World Title Due To Injury
Back in March 2022, Thunder Rosa captured the AEW Women’s World Championship from Britt Baker in a brutal Steel Cage match on the St Patrick’s Day Slam edition of Dynamite. Unfortunately, the star suffered a back injury that August that left her sidelined for several months.
In her absence, Toni Storm and Jamie Hayter both held the Interim version of the gold, but that November, Tony Khan decided to strip Rosa of the title as it was unclear when she would be able to return. This led to him retroactively making both Storm and Hayter part of the championship lineage.
