Two more spots in the King and Queen of the Ring finals were decided on WWE Raw.
Oba Femi advanced to the King of the Ring final with an impressive victory over Dominik Mysterio in Monday night’s main event. Despite interference from JD McDonagh, the former NXT Champion proved too dominant, overwhelming both members of Judgment Day before planting Mysterio with a powerbomb for the decisive victory.
The win sends Femi to Night of Champions on June 27 in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia, where he will face either Jey Uso or Je’Von Evans. The two stars are set to meet on this week’s SmackDown to determine the other finalist.
Following the match, Femi made it clear that he believes the tournament is already his to win. “The Ruler” vowed to defeat whoever stands across the ring from him in Saudi Arabia before turning his attention to Brock Lesnar. Femi said he expected Lesnar to appear on Raw, but suggested The Beast was avoiding a confrontation.
“When it’s all said and done, I’ll be the king,” Femi said. “You will just be the man who ran from Oba Femi.”
The winner of King of the Ring will earn a world championship match at SummerSlam.
First WWE Queen Of The Ring Finalist Also Confirmed On Raw
Earlier in the night, Iyo Sky became the first woman to secure her place in the Queen of the Ring final.
Sky defeated Raquel Rodriguez in a hard-fought semi-final match after Rodriguez missed a high-risk attack from the ropes. Sky capitalised with a powerbomb before connecting with her signature moonsault to secure the victory.
The former WWE Women’s Champion will now compete at Night of Champions with a SummerSlam title opportunity on the line. Sky’s opponent will be determined on SmackDown when Charlotte Flair faces Liv Morgan.
Morgan also appeared on Raw in a backstage segment involving Danhausen. Hoping to gain an advantage ahead of the tournament match, Morgan attempted to convince Danhausen to place a curse on her rival. However, Danhausen’s demands for payment, along with requests to appear in Morgan’s music video and on one of her songs, quickly ended the conversation.
