The first women’s AEW Grand Slam Champion has been crowned at Redemption.
Willow Nightingale made AEW history at Redemption, defeating Thekla to win the Women’s World Championship and becoming the company’s first Women’s Grand Slam Champion. Nightingale captured the championship after overcoming both Thekla and outside interference from Skye Blue. Blue attempted to derail the challenger early in the match, but Nightingale neutralised her with a powerbomb at ringside before surviving a spear attempt from Thekla.
The finish came when Thekla attempted to steal the victory with a backslide, only for Nightingale to reverse the hold into a pinfall to secure the win. Following the match, an emotional Nightingale celebrated with her Conglomeration stablemates as Thekla looked on in frustration.
The victory completes a landmark achievement for Nightingale, who has now held the TBS Championship twice, won the AEW Women’s World Tag Team Championship alongside Harley Cameron, and captured the 2023 Owen Hart Cup before adding the final accolade needed to become AEW’s first Women’s Grand Slam Champion.
Willow Nightingale Will Defend The AEW Women’s World Title At All In
Willow Nightingale will now turn her attention to AEW All In, where she is set to defend the championship against Mercedes Moné. Moné earned the title opportunity after winning the 2026 Owen Hart Cup tournament and Forbidden Door on June 28, defeating Maya World in the final. World also competed on Redemption, defeating Hikaru Shida to win the TBS Title.
