While in NJPW, David Finlay became the last leader of Bullet Club. At the time, he wanted nothing but NJPW to end the faction. That notion evolved into the War Dogs.
“I became the Bullet Club leader and then I immediately wanted to kill it but they were like, ‘No, it makes money.’ So, the compromise was we formed Bullet Club War Dogs, which is where the Dogs come from,” he told Chris Jericho on his Talk Is Jericho podcast.
He then explained recruiting the others.
“It was me and a bunch of the LA Dojo guys that weren’t getting used. I was the leader and Gabe Kidd, Alex Coughlin, who had to retire for medical reasons, Clark Connors and Drilla Moloney were the core of that group,” he explained.
He talked about bringing the faction and his friends to NJPW.
“As time went on it expanded, as groups do, but those are my boys. It’s cool that me, Gabe and Clark can kind of tweak the act but transplant the act into another company. There’s a sense of pride that comes with that,” he said.
Yota Tsuji, NJPW’s IWGP Heavyweight Champion, could be heading to MLW. MLW aired a promo this week featuring the words: “It’s not a question if you’re ready. It’s whether you’re prepared. Are you ready?”. With the words appeared Tsuji’s familiar hat.
