Filmmakers John Requa and Glenn Ficarra are not mincing their words about who killed their Vince McMahon biopic: Pandemonium.
Word has been circulating since 2017 that Requa and Ficarra were supposed to direct the film. Craig A.Williams who penned Underdog wrote the script back in 2015. The WWE also had its say in editing the script.
Bradley Cooper was even offered the role of Vinnie Mac himself and Sony and Tristar Pictures attached to producing and distributing the film. It was supposed to detail McMahon’s life over a 40 year period.
/Film reports in their recent interview with the filmmakers about their new TV series Rabbit Hole that the movie is now off the table and weren’t shy about stating why:
“Pandemonium is dead, sadly,” said Ficarra.
Requa added: “Vince killed it.”
Requa went on to explain what happened.
“We have never in our career had the studio, we had an actor, everybody was just like, ‘Let’s make this movie,’ and Vince said: We’re not making it. Pandemonium was only going to be made with the involvement and approval of WWE Studios so even before McMahon counted out the project, we likely would have never gotten a truly authentic look at just how insidious McMahon has been for over 40 years. “So, yeah, we are on a very long list of people who got f—-d over by Vince,” said Requa.
At the present, Netflix is still working on their McMahon documentary and horror movie studio Blumhouse is teaming with the WWE for The United States of America Vs. Vince McMahon.
