“AJ Lee” seemingly responded to the rumours that she has picked up an injury, and that is why she hasn’t been seen on WWE TV as of late.
AJ Lee returned to WWE after over ten years away on the September 5 episode of SmackDown to confront Becky Lynch after Lynch got involved in CM Punk‘s feud with Seth Rollins and slapped Punk on the previous episode of Raw. Lee attacked Lynch to set up a tag match at Wrestlepalooza, which took place on September 20 and saw Lee and Punk defeat Lynch and Rollins by submission, with Lee making Lynch tap out to her Black Widow finisher.
Lee has not been seen on WWE TV since Wrestlepalooza, leading to speculation that she may have picked up an injury during the match, which is why she hasn’t been seen since. And now Facebook account that has since been deleted, claiming to be Lee, responded to these rumours, stating that Lee is on a book tour, which is why she is away from WWE. The account was proven to be a fake, and PWInsider reported that sources within WWE and the publishing world confirmed that there is no book tour.
When Did AJ Lee First Retire From WWE?
AJ Lee first retired from WWE in April 2015, after her husband, CM Punk, left the company in 2014 and also retired from wrestling. Punk spoke very publicly about his reasons for leaving WWE and was very scathing when speaking about them, stating that company doctor Chris Amann was negligent and refused to treat an MRSA infection. Punk also expressed unhappiness with the company over not main-eventing a WrestleMania despite his massive popularity.
