A former WWE NXT talent has reportedly been under contract with AEW for far longer than many realised.
According to Fightful Select, Ashante “Thee” Adonis, now competing as Tehuti Miles, signed with AEW during the first week of September and has been under contract for six months. Miles made his in-ring debut for the company during Sunday’s Ring of Honor television tapings in Jacksonville, Florida. The report notes that although he signed shortly after his WWE deal expired, his first appearance did not come until now. It remains unclear why his debut was delayed or why he did not work independent dates in the interim.
When Did The Former Ashante Adonis Last Wrestle In WWE?
The former Ashante Adonis had not competed since losing to Ricky Saints on WWE NXT last June. His WWE contract reportedly expired on August 10, with Miles signing with AEW approximately one month later.
Miles originally joined WWE in 2019, debuting in NXT before becoming a regular on 205 Live. He later gained prominence as a member of Hit Row alongside Swerve Strickland, AJ Francis and B-Fab. The trio was called up to the main roster in August 2022, then returned to NXT in the summer of 2024.
Despite multiple runs across brands, Miles never captured championship gold in WWE.
