Former WWE superstar turned actor Saurav Gurjar (Sanga) is facing serious charges in India.
Gachibowli police have charged him with allegedly sexually exploiting a 29-year-old woman making false promises of marriage and subjecting her to harassment and sexual exploitation.
Immigration officials at Mumbai airport arrested Gurjar when he returned from a trip to the Middle East.
The woman claims she met Gurjar on Instagram and then began meeting, dating for five years including traveling to the United States with him.
“During the course of our relationship, the accused disclosed that he was already married. He repeatedly promised to give me wife-like rights and eventually settle down with me,” stated the woman in her court filing.
“He used to block me on the phone/social media and disappear without any prior information. I suffered mental harassment, emotional distress and financial loss, including losing my job after I left my employment in the US to stay with him,” she also stated.
In India, sexual intercourse obtained through deceitful means or through a promise of marriage made without any intention of fulfilling that promise is a crime. Those convicted can face up to 10 years in prison and/or fined.
In WWE, Gurjar was part of the Indus Sher tag team and became the bodyguard of Grayson Waller. Since leaving WWE in 2024, Gurjar has reignited his film and TV career.
