ESPN has joined a lawsuit filed against the WWE.
Two fans have sued the WWE claiming they were involved in deceptive advertising and unfair trade practices.
The plaintiffs state the promotion claimed premium live events would be included with an ESPN streaming subscription but instead PLEs cost an extra $29.99/month.
ESPN has now stepped off the sidelines and has become directly involved in the suit itself.
ESPN is arguing the dispute is really about its subscription service and suggests the plaintiffs should have sued ESPN from the start not WWE.
ESPN could push for arbitration in this case which would severely limit or head off a class-action lawsuit.
