Eric Bischoff once revealed which wrestlers he would choose if he were given the chance to rebuild the nWo from the ground up.
Speaking on Wrestling Shoot Interviews in 2023, the former WCW President was asked who he would include in a reimagined version of the iconic faction. Eric Bischoff named several familiar faces, beginning with the core group that helped define the nWo during its peak years.
“Hulk, Scott, Kevin, Syxx, Konnan, and me,” Bischoff said, adding that he would once again place himself in the role of spokesperson. “But if I had to add one more, it would probably be Scott Steiner.”
Bischoff explained that the late Hulk Hogan, late Scott Hall, and Kevin Nash were essential to the group’s identity, while Syxx and Konnan brought a different energy and dynamic to the faction. He noted that his own role was always intended to be that of the mouthpiece rather than an in-ring presence.
When discussing his additional pick, Bischoff highlighted Scott Steiner’s physical presence and intensity, suggesting that his inclusion would have elevated the group even further. Known for his size, athleticism, and aggressive persona, Steiner was seen as a natural fit for the nWo’s dominant image.
How Long Was Eric Bischoff With WCW?
Eric Bischoff’s tenure with WCW spanned more than a decade and covered the most influential period in the company’s history. He first joined WCW in 1991, initially working in a behind-the-scenes role before rising through the ranks. By 1993, Bischoff had become Executive Vice President, a position that placed him in charge of creative direction and day-to-day operations.
Bischoff remained a central figure in WCW throughout its most successful years, overseeing the launch of Monday Nitro and the rise of the nWo during the company’s peak in the mid-to-late 1990s. He stayed with WCW until 2001, when the promotion was purchased by WWE, bringing an end to his tenure and to WCW itself as an independent company.
