Drew McIntyre took advantage of the restrictions Undisputed WWE Champion, Cody Rhodes, has on him at last night’s WWE house show. Rhodes is not allowed to put his hands on McIntyre, unless they are in a match, until their championship, Three Stages of Hell match on January 9th on SmackDown in Berlin, Germany.
Besides interfering in his matches, McIntyre has previously attacked Cody Rhodes on his tour bus on a episode of Smackdown last month. Rhodes returned the favor by beating the hell out of McIntrye as he arrived at Smackdown and attacking McIntyre at his home.
Many of Cody and Brandi’s relatives were at last night’s WWE Holiday Show in Detroit, including Brandi’s mother, Jyll Reed. He faced Cody in a Street Fight for the Undisputed WWE Championship. The Reed family is based in Detroit.
McIntyre cut a promo before their match complaining that he wanted the championship match against Cody to be in Germany because he was tired of being “screwed” in America “three separate times”. He was ticked off at having to wrestle Cody in Detroit tonight.
“You know what the best thing is? Cody cannot touch me until the bell rings so I can say whatever I want!” he said leaving the ring as Cody fumed.
“I heard a little rumour that Brandi’s, Cody’s wife’s family, is here tonight,” he said asking them to identify themselves. The entourage included Brandi’s dad Otis, a friend of her dad’s, a couple of uncles and Brandi’s mother.
“I have a question for you,” he asked Jyll. “I know what you are thinking when you watch Smackdown. You are thinking…”My god! That tall, handsome, Scottish guy makes me really weak in the knees….I know what you are really thinking. You are thinking I wish my daughter married Drew instead of Cody, right?”.
McIntyre then proceeded to say he was leaving the arena, forfeiting the match to fight for the title in Berlin but the official rang the bell and Cody ran after McIntyre starting the match.
