Drew McIntyre has sparked speculation about a potential WWE return after sharing a social media video that appeared to contain a subtle reference to Survivor Series.
The former WWE Champion has been absent from television since WrestleMania 42, but his latest Instagram activity has raised questions about whether he’s preparing to return next month.
Drew McIntyre shared footage on his Instagram Stories showing himself opening a package sent by Mexican football club Club Deportivo Guadalajara. Inside the package was a personalised football shirt featuring the name “McIntyre” on the back.
However, it was not the shirt itself that attracted attention, but rather the chair on which McIntyre had placed the package. The Scottish wrestler had positioned the delivery on a chair from last year’s WWE Survivor Series event.
Even after McIntyre removed the shirt and placed it to one side, the footage continued briefly, leaving the Survivor Series branding visible. The detail has prompted speculation that McIntyre could be teasing a return at this year’s Survivor Series premium live event, scheduled for November 28, 2026.
However, no official confirmation has stated that the chair was meant as a hint about his WWE future.
Drew McIntyre’s Extended WWE Absence
Drew McIntyre has not appeared on WWE television since WrestleMania 42, where he lost to Jacob Fatu in an Unsanctioned Match. The contest marked his last televised WWE appearance before beginning an extended hiatus from the company.
During his time away from the ring, McIntyre has been involved in several major Hollywood commitments, keeping him occupied outside professional wrestling. His absence has left questions surrounding when he might return to WWE programming and what direction the company could take with him upon his comeback.
Survivor Series would provide a prominent stage for McIntyre to make his return, particularly given his lengthy absence from television. Nevertheless, the appearance of last year’s Survivor Series chair in his Instagram video remains the only suggested connection to the November event.
Neither McIntyre nor WWE has announced a return date, and it remains unclear whether the social media post was a deliberate tease or simply a coincidence. For now, McIntyre’s return timeline remains uncertain as Survivor Series approaches.
