Drew McIntyre has discussed whether he plans to take on more movie roles in Hollywood.
For much of 2026, Drew McIntyre has been absent from WWE, instead taking on roles in upcoming movies like the Henry Cavill-led Highlander reboot and The Last Druid. As well as film roles, McIntyre is one of the stars of the new micro-drama Agent of Shadows, which premiered on ReelShort on October 23rd.
In a new interview on India’s CNN-News18, McIntyre said he’s not chasing more movie roles, but would be “taking it as it comes.”
“I mean, again, I’m not chasing it. I know a few of our guys are chasing it. I think Drew McIntyre would say, ‘Drew McIntyre didn’t come to Hollywood. Hollywood came to Drew McIntyre.’
“We’re taking it as it comes. I will be back to WWE. WWE’s my home, and I appreciate Nick Khan, Triple H letting me go out and explore this world. Hopefully it’s beneficial to both worlds, but when the time is right, Hollywood Drew will be back, but the time’s not right quite yet.”
‘WWE Is My First Love’ – Drew McIntyre
When it comes to a choice between WWE and Hollywood, the Scottish Warrior says WWE wins every time, even though it’s a “dysfunctional” relationship.
“Yeah, I mean, it’s WWE. It’s my first love. It’s my most dysfunctional relationship, my longest marriage, and we’ll be together as long as we can be together.
“Even Batista says the same, he wishes he could still be wrestling in front of the large crowds, beause there’s nothing like the live WWE audience, especially the Indian fans, just how passionate and how much they get into the product.
“When you get a good scene and it’s, like, ‘Cut,’ and everyone went, ‘Good job, move on,’ and they just leave, and you’re standing there…. I wish everybody was clapping or cheering or something, but that’s what I miss, there’s nothing like the WWE fans.”
In another recent interview, Drew McIntyre credited Batista with helping him launch his Hollywood career back in 2024.
