D’Lo Brown has shared a story from his early WWE days involving The Godfather, saying one smoking session left him unable to remember an entire day.
Speaking on Casual Conversations with The Classic, D’Lo Brown said that when he first smoked marijuana with The Godfather, the experience hit him far harder than expected.
“Since weed is fully legal these days, I will tell you one time,” Brown said. “The first time I ever smoked with Godfather, I got so high, I lost an entire day. Wrestled him in a match in Toronto at SkyDome, crossed the border twice, and I have no recollection of the whole day. I have refused to smoke with him ever since.”
Both Wright and Brown were members of the Nation of Domination during the Attitude Era, a group that also included Mark Henry, The Rock and, later, Owen Hart. Wright was inducted into the WWE Hall of Fame in 2016, though the Nation as a faction has not yet received the honour.
How Long Was D’Lo Brown In The WWE?
D’Lo Brown spent the better part of six years in WWE, debuting in 1997 and remaining with the company until 2003. He first arrived on television as a member of the Nation of Domination, where he quickly became a featured mid-card act thanks to his athletic style and charismatic swagger.
During his run, Brown held the European Championship four times and captured the Intercontinental Title once, becoming the first wrestler to hold both simultaneously. He remained a consistent presence across the Attitude Era before moving on from WWE in early 2003 after a lengthy stint as both a wrestler and trainer.
