With the recent signings of teams like the Motor City Machine Guns and the New Level, Dax Harwood says it’s “almost undeniable” that AEW is the home of tag team wrestling.
At All In London, Adam Copeland and Christian Cage successfully defended the AEW Tag Team Titles in their first-ever match against the Young Bucks. After the bout, the scale of the challenge for Cope and Cage to stay on top of the division became clear when the Motor City Machine Guns, FTR, and the New Level all came to the ring, showing that the champions have a target on their backs.
In a new interview with SB Nation, Dax Harwood said that the AEW tag team division is the most exciting its been since he and Cash Wheeler joined the promotion in 2020.
“It’s more exciting in AEW now than it’s ever been in our whole time here, and that’s the honest-to-God truth.
“We’ve got some young Teams like the Gunn Club, Austin and Colton, we’ve got young teams like the Rascalz that are coming in and trying to take over the spot from FTR. On top of that, you also have some of the greatest tag teams of all time.
“Obviously FTR, The Young Bucks, and Cope and Cage, but now with the Austin Creed and, and Kofi, you’ve got The New Level, one of the greatest tag teams of all time. You’ve got Motor City Machine Guns, another set of guys who can lay claim as the greatest tag team of all time.”
With all of the talent in the division, Harwood says AEW can claim to be the home of tag team wrestling.
“So if you got five of the top tag teams in the last 30 years in one company under one roof, with some of the greatest young talent in the world, I think it’s almost undeniable to say that AEW is the home for tag team wrestling.”
Dax Harwood & Cash Wheeler Part Of Ladder Match At AEW All Out
Dax Harwood and Cash Wheeler will get a chance to win the AEW Tag Team Titles for the fourth time at All Out, this time in a 3-Way Ladder Match. Cope and Cage made the challenge on the September 2nd episode of Dynamite, promising that the match would also involve tables and chairs, like the bouts they used to have in WWE.
