Darby Allin has offered an update on his condition after being hospitalised following a frightening spot on AEW Dynamite that led to his removal from the Continental Classic tournament.
Darby Allin was injured during his opening round match against Kevin Knight and was officially pulled from the tournament over the weekend. Speaking to 680 The Fan, Allin said he feels physically ready to compete but has not been cleared by AEW medical staff.
“I feel a million bucks right now, I am not lying,” Allin said. “But I am just not medically cleared. They are just saving me from me, which is fine, which is good. But at the end of the day, I feel amazing right now.”
According to the Wrestling Observer Newsletter, Allin suffered a head injury after taking a coast-to-coast dropkick from Knight. AEW later aired footage of Allin in the hospital during the following week’s show, confirming the severity of the incident.
With Allin unable to continue, AEW announced that Jack Perry would take his place in the Continental Classic group stage. The tournament will conclude at the Worlds End pay-per-view on December 27 in Hoffman Estates, Illinois.
