Danhausen says it was “unbelievable” to share the ring with John Cena at WrestleMania 42.
In one of the most bizarre segments in WrestleMania history, Danhausen came to the aid of John Cena when The Miz and Kit Wilson tried to get a WrestleMania moment at the 17-time World Champion’s expense. Danhausen led a group of minihausens to the ring, and they dogpiled Wilson and took him out of the ring.
Danhausen then landed a low blow and 5-Knuckle Shuffle on Miz, leading to Cena raising his hand before the star (attempted) to disappear in a cloud of smoke.
In a new interview on No-Contest Wrestling, Danhausen said he wasn’t originally even planned for the event, but he quickly became “undeniable.”
“I think it is to push the limits of what will work and what more we can do because originally Danhausen I don’t think was supposed to be a part of WrestleMania, but then it was undeniable that he must be added. Then they said, ‘Guess what? John Cena.’ Oh, great, sounds perfect.”
The star’s only regret is that he wasn’t able to get to WWE before John Cena retired, saying he would have liked to have tagged with the 17-time World Champion.
“Danhausen wishes he could’ve got there a little bit earlier, perhaps to do a tag team with John or something, that would’ve been nice. But, you know what? This is as good as it gets. He’s retired, he gets to enjoy his time off. He’s earned it, he deserves it. He isn’t going to take time off, let’s be real, he’s the busiest person on earth.”
Danhausen admitted it was unbelievable for him to appear on the Grandest Stage of Them All, and it was one of the moments of his career that really hit him.
“I think it’s a little bit unbelievable. That’s one of the few moments that hit Danhausen. Sometimes, it’s hard to take stuff in as superstars and wrestlers in this business because stuff moves so fast. But, I think when you’re standing there literally across from John and he’s looking at you as you say your catchphrase and laughing, I think it hits you a little bit. It’s hard to absorb in the sea of people, but you can absorb in John Cena one foot away from your face.

John Cena Never Plans To Wrestle Again
While many wrestlers’ retirements are short-lived, John Cena says there’s no way to persuade him to get back in the ring. At a recent Fan Expo, he was asked if he would have one more match, perhaps in AEW. The star said that “No Khan has got the pocketbook.” Whether it’s WWE President Nick Khan or AEW President Tony Khan, he says no amount of money would get him to go back on his word after fans spent “a fortune” to see him on his Farewell Tour.
