Danhausen has taken steps to secure one of his signature catchphrases following his recent WWE debut.
The popular performer has filed a trademark for “YOU ARE CURSED!” with the United States Patent and Trademark Office, with the application submitted on March 25. The filing lists the first use of the phrase in commerce as December 2019, predating his time in both AEW and WWE.
The trademark covers a wide range of uses, including merchandise such as shirts, hoodies, hats, bandanas, and socks, as well as entertainment services tied to wrestling. These include appearances, performances, online content, and the provision of wrestling-related media.
The move comes shortly after WWE filed its own trademarks related to Danhausen, making his independent application a notable parallel development as both sides look to protect elements of his character.
Danhausen’s WWE Debut
Danhausen made his WWE debut at Elimination Chamber on February 28 and has since featured regularly on television, primarily in character-driven segments where he has “cursed” fellow WWE stars. He has yet to compete in an official match for the company.
Prior to joining WWE, Danhausen built a strong following through his work on the independent scene and during his time in AEW, where his unique persona gained widespread attention.
