Dan Hooker is having to deal with more than just getting fine tuned for his fight against Salahdine Parnasse at UFC Paris on September 5th.
The bout will be Salahdine Parnasse’s UFC debut.
Speaking to Submission Radio, Hooker claims as soon as the fight was announced he has received actual death threats.
“The death threats have been outrageous. I didn’t get it when I fought [Benoit Saint Denis]. Like just the French people and speaking French telling me I’m going to die and telling me they’re going to kill me and s–t. The death threats have been outrageous,” he said.
Hooker explained that this didn’t happen when he fought Benoît Saint Denis back in February at UFC 325.
“I think maybe because BSD, he’s obviously French as well my last opponent, I feel like because he’s just such a respectful guy. The people that follow him or support him aren’t complete f——g c–ts but whoever this c–ts fans are, [they] are outrageous,” he said.
The backlash though has altered Hooker’s approach. He wants to end Parnasse’s career before it even starts.
“It’s going to feel pretty sweet shutting this kid’s lights out. Making these guys eat their words. I’m here to ruin hopes and dreams. This kid wants to come in, make a name for himself, crack the top 10. He wants to be a superstar but I’m going to fly to France and I’m going to f–k everyone’s night up. That’s my plan,” he said.
