D-Von Dudley has opened up on a life-threatening medical emergency, revealing he was told he could have died or been paralysed if help had arrived even a minute later.
Speaking with DJ Vlad, D-Von Dudley recalled suffering a stroke in 2019 while working as a WWE producer in California. He said the incident occurred after a day on set producing a segment involving Charlotte Flair and Alexa Bliss. After returning to his hotel room, D-Von said he felt compelled to unlock his door before going to sleep, a decision that would prove crucial.
“I don’t know what it was… something kept telling me to unlock the door,” he said.
He later woke up and collapsed when attempting to stand, quickly realising something was seriously wrong.
“All of a sudden, I couldn’t feel my legs,” D-Von said.
Unable to stand, he crawled across the room while his then-wife, concerned after failing to reach him, contacted the hotel and urged staff to check on him immediately. Because the door had been unlocked, staff were able to enter, and paramedics confirmed he was having a stroke. Doctors performed an emergency procedure to remove a blood clot, and D-Von spent two weeks in the hospital before returning home to Florida by car.
“The doctor told me, if you would have been a minute later, you would have either been dead, paralysed for life, or in a nursing home,” he said.
D-Von Dudley Says He Is Walking Comfortably Again Thanks To DDP Yoga
D-Von Dudley also detailed the long-term physical toll of his career, including multiple surgeries and ongoing mobility issues. However, he credited DDP Yoga with helping him regain movement and improve his quality of life.
“Now I’m walking with no issues… because I make that part of my routine,” he said.
D-Von added that his focus now is on maintaining his health and staying active with his family.
