Could 2027 be the year wrestling legend Rey Mysterio retires?
WrestleVotes has reported that there is a lot of chatter behind the scenes in WWE that Mysterio might be calling it quits in 2027.’
It has reached the point that the WWE has begun preliminary plans concerning his big send-off and how it would unfold.
One of the greatest luchadores to ever strap on a pair of boots, Mysterio has been wrestling for 37 years.
Mysterio was inducted into the WWE Hall of Fame in 2023.
In an interview with BANG Showbiz earlier this year, Mysterio commented about his retirement.
“I think I’m just going to wing it and see where this road takes me because I’m really enjoying the moments right now that I’m living inside the ring, whether as a wrestler or as a GM…I’m loving the process right now of enjoying the moments as they come,” he said.
On What’s Your Story? with Stephanie McMahon in August, Mysterio had this to say:
“Is it getting close to my time to retire? I certainly don’t feel like it….Never say never, but it can just pop up one day, just out of nowhere, and say, ‘Okay, now it’s time.’”
