Late on Friday, November 1, news broke of some WWE releases.
The three confirmed releases are:
Baron Corbin — Of the three released, Corbin (Thomas Pestock) by far had the longest run at 12 years and most prominent positions, including as general manager for a time. Coming out of football where he was a lineman, the 40-year-old Corbin signed with WWE in 2012 and was all over NXT — as a tag champion with Bron Breakker — until being called up to the main roster in 2016. He won a Money in the Bank match (2017, though unsuccessfully tried to cash it in) and was the United States Champion. He also won the André the Giant Memorial Battle Royal in 2016. He was also the 2019 King of the Ring.
He tweeted out, “That’s all she wrote folks. ???It’s been real and I appreciate everyone who supported me.”

Indi Hartwell — Her last TV appearance actually comes tonight, in a pre-taped bout, teaming with Candice LeRae against Naomi and Bayley on Smackdown. Samantha De Martin is an Australian wrestler who debuted in 2016 and signed with WWE/NXT in 2019. She is a former NXT Women’s champion and held the NXT Women’s tag titles with Candice LeRae. Many will remember a long storyline involving Dexter Lumis. She went up to the main roster in May 2023.
On X, she simply wrote, “Don’t cry because it’s over, smile because it happened.”
Tegan Nox — After a devastating injury during the Mae Young Classic, she battled back, but never really got a push with the company. Steffanie Newell is originally from Wales, debuting in 2013, and making her way to NXT in April 2017 — and almost immediately tore her ACL and was shelved, not returning until June 2019. She debuted on the main roster in 2021 but was rarely featured. Her X account noted “Nixon newell returns…” and later, she posted, “Some things are just out of your control and you can only do as much as you can. Let’s clear one thing up though. I’m ready. Ive been ready. Just have to show people what they’ve missed.”
