Former UFC two-division champion Conor McGregor has undergone successful surgery to repair the torn ACL and meniscus he suffered during his long-awaited return to the Octagon last month.
Conor McGregor shared a brief update on social media following the procedure, confirming everything had gone according to plan.
“Surgery went excellent. I am confident.”
The Irishman sustained the injury at UFC 329 in July during his first fight in five years. McGregor injured his right knee just seconds into his bout with Max Holloway while attempting a kick, forcing the contest to be stopped after only 69 seconds.

Despite the setback, Conor McGregor remains optimistic about returning to competition next summer for what is expected to be the final fight on his current UFC contract. UFC CEO Dana White previously indicated the former lightweight and featherweight champion is likely to be sidelined for around a year.
McGregor has maintained a positive outlook throughout his recovery, regularly posting training videos since suffering the injury. He had initially hoped to return to action as early as April before the severity of the injury ruled out those plans.
Although his comeback ended in disappointment, McGregor’s drawing power remains evident. UFC 329 set a new live gate record for the T-Mobile Arena in Las Vegas, while Paramount reported the event attracted 15.9 million viewers across its platforms, including a peak of 8.3 million concurrent streams.
