A match has already been scheduled for the first WWE Raw of the new year, as CM Punk will face Bron Breakker.
On last night’s episode of Raw, Paul Heyman brought out The Vision’s Bron Breakker and Bronson Reed, alongside Logan Paul, to the ring and praised his team for their victory in the men’s WarGames match at Survivor Series. Heyman then announced that on the first Raw of 2026, January 5, Breakker will face CM Punk for the World Heavyweight Championship.
Breakker then took the microphone and delivered a promo on CM Punk, gloating about pinning him to win the WarGames match, mocking that he defeated him with ease and calling him a “soft a** bi**h”.
Breakker also said that he doesn’t know the identity of the mystery man who scaled the cage to hit a superkick and stomp onto Punk to assist Breakker in getting the win at Survivor Series, and said that the interference was not the reason he won the bout for his team.
When Did CM Punk Win The World Heavyweight Championship?
CM Punk won the World Heavyweight Championship at Saturday Night’s Main Event on November 1, where he defeated Jey Uso to win the vacant title after it was announced that Seth Rollins was stripped of the belt on the October 20 episode of Raw due to suffering a shoulder injury that would see him out of action for at least six months.
This is Punk’s second reign with the title, as he previously won it at night one of SummerSlam on August 2, but Rollins cashed in his Money in the Bank briefcase immediately after Punk defeated Gunther for the belt and won it, meaning Punk held the title for just a few minutes.
