WWE 2K26 will see CM Punk make his entrance to a fan-favourite theme from his days on the independent scene.
This year, the showcase for WWE 2K26 centres around CM Punk, and is set to feature matches from throughout his WWE career. It will also have candid commentary from Punk himself and behind-the-scenes insight from the Straight Edge Superstar.
The showcase isn’t the only mode to feature CM Punk’s history, as the MyRise Lead Narrative Designer Sean Conaway has revealed to TechRadar that one of the unlockables in the game will be a 2003 independent scene version of Punk. Surprisingly, it will also feature AFI’s ‘Miseria Centare’ to complete the nostalgia.
“Conaway also shared that with MyRise this year, you’ll be able to unlock the likes of Polka Dot Dusty Rhodes and the 2003 independent scene version of cover star CM Punk (and yes, 2K has sprung for 2000s punk rockers AFI’s Miseria Cantare as his entrance theme for this version of the character).”
Punk used the AFI song throughout his time on the indies, including in Ring of Honor. He brought the song back for one night only when he took on MJF in a Dog Collar Match at AEW Revolution in 2022.
WWE 2K26 is available to pre-order now. Special editions are set to launch on March 6, 2026, with the standard edition arriving on March 13, 2026.
What CM Punk Matches Will Feature In WWE 2K26 Showcase?
the WWE 2K26 showcase will feature classic matches ranging from CM Punk’s battles with The Undertaker and John Cena, all the way up to WrestleMania 41, where he took on Seth Rollins and Roman Reigns. Players will also be able to try the biggest fantasy bouts that never happened, with Punk taking on Stone Cold Steve Austin and Eddie Guerrero.
