Tony Khan has addressed the AEW contract status of Chris Jericho amidst ongoing rumours that the inaugural AEW World Champion could be leaving the company soon.
Speaking in a recent appearance on Busted Open Radio, AEW President Tony Khan was asked about why Chris Jericho hasn’t been seen on AEW TV since April, and he said that they will “see what happens in the coming months” before going on to say that Jericho is a “welcome part of AEW, who we always want to have here.”
In a separate interview with Z100 New York, Khan was also asked about the status of Jericho’s contract and said that the Canadian star is busy with projects outside of AEW, such as filming TV and movies, working on his music, and with his upcoming cruise. He concluded by again saying that Jericho is welcome back at any time.
Tony Khan also spoke recently about wanting to open an AEW training facility similar to WWE Performance Center to foster the next generation of AEW talent. Khan said that he would like FTR’s Cash Wheeler and Dax Harwood, alongside Adam Copeland, to be heavily involved in the project and would ideally open the training school in FTR’s hometown of Asheville, North Carolina.
