Chris Jericho has shared a behind-the-scenes look at his surprise return to All Elite Wrestling, posting a backstage video just moments before his appearance on AEW Dynamite.
Chris Jericho uploaded the clip to social media from a parking area inside the venue in Winnipeg, documenting the moments leading up to his comeback after a year away from AEW programming.
“Alright, here I am in the parking garage… it is 6:50 and in 10 minutes I am going to shock the world by returning to AEW. Join the ride,” Jericho said in the video.
The post gave fans a rare glimpse behind the curtain ahead of what had been a heavily speculated return, particularly with Dynamite taking place in his hometown. Jericho later made his on-screen comeback during the opening segment of the show, interrupting proceedings before delivering a brief message to the live crowd.
“Winnipeg… AEW… I’m home.”
Chris Jericho Made His First AEW Appearance In Nearly A Year
The return marked Chris Jericho’s first AEW appearance since April 2025, when his on-screen exit followed the collapse of The Learning Tree faction.
His absence had fuelled ongoing speculation about a potential move back to WWE, with Jericho linked to several major events over the past year. Reports had also indicated WWE’s interest in bringing him in for a possible retirement run.
Despite those rumours, recent updates suggested Jericho had been in discussions with AEW regarding a return for several months, ultimately leading to his reappearance this week. At this stage, Jericho’s creative direction following his return remains unclear, but his backstage video has already provided a unique insight into the build-up to one of AEW’s most talked-about moments in recent weeks.
