Chris Jericho made his intentions clear following his long-awaited return, but not without an interruption that quickly changed the direction of his announcement.
Chris Jericho returned on AEW Dynamite last week for the first time since April 2025, putting an end to speculation surrounding a potential WWE comeback and reaffirming his loyalty to AEW. On the April 9, 2026 episode, he addressed the crowd and brought a contract to the ring, preparing to confirm his in-ring return at AEW Dynasty.
Before Jericho could sign, Ricochet interrupted alongside The Gates of Agony, attempting to halt the announcement. Ricochet mocked both Jericho and the crowd, urging him not to sign the contract and declaring, “Canada sucks.”
Jericho responded with a sharp jab, telling Ricochet, “You’re really bald,” while delivering his promo in a cadence that became increasingly familiar as the segment unfolded. That approach paid off moments later when Jericho revealed the contract had already been altered, removing the backing to expose Ricochet’s name printed on it.
In doing so, Jericho brought back the “List of Jericho,” adding Ricochet’s name to confirm the match between the two at Dynasty.
AEW Made The Chris Jericho Vs. Ricochet Bout For Dynasty Official
AEW later made the bout official with an on-screen graphic, confirming Chris Jericho’s first match for the promotion in over a year. His previous AEW match took place at Dynasty in 2025, where he lost the ROH World Championship to Bandido in a Mask vs Title match.
