Chelsea Green has provided an encouraging update on her recovery as she continues to work toward a return to WWE action.
Chelsea Green has been sidelined with an ankle injury that she suffered during a match on the February 6 episode of SmackDown, where she faced Tiffany Stratton and Lash Legend in an Elimination Chamber qualifying match.
Speaking during a recent appearance on The Ghosts of Hollywood, Green discussed the injury and revealed that while the damage is serious, her recovery is progressing well.
“My ankle, it’s broken,” Green said. “The inner ankle bone chipped and cracked. It’s very much broken. A lot of people are questioning that.”
Chelsea Green Shares Positive News Despite Serious Ankle Injury
Despite describing the injury as a broken ankle, Chelsea Green explained that she is already seeing signs of improvement as she continues rehabilitation.
“I’m able to put weight there,” she said. “I feel like we’re on a good trajectory to make a solid comeback.”
The injury also forced Green to miss a scheduled AAA Mixed Tag Team Championship match, where she had been set to team with Ethan Page.
Green was replaced in the bout by La Hiedra, who stepped in as Page’s partner for the title defence. However, the substitute pairing was unsuccessful, as Lola Vice and Mr Iguana went on to capture the championships.
For now, Green remains focused on recovery as she works toward returning to WWE television in the coming months.
