Chelsea Green has opened up on how it feels to have a legend like The Undertaker stick up for her.
On an episode of Season 2 of WWE Unreal, Michael Hayes said that Chelsea Green was entertaining, but not built to be a top star. He then claimed Green’s job was to help make the top stars instead.
When Hayes later appeared on The Undertaker’s Six Feet Under podcast, The Deadman took him to task for the comment, saying he believes Green is underutilised, and has the ‘it’ factor needed to become a “top, top talent.”
During an appearance on the Nikki & Brie Show, Green spoke about how The Undertaker didn’t just defend her on his show, but sent her text messages to hype her up after.
“I check my texts, and he’s texted that to me, too. He has doubled down, got my phone number and texted me to hype me up. My sister and I had this crazy moment of, ‘Holy shit, I’m doing it. I’m really doing it.’
“I know everyone says, ‘You’re so funny. I watched you, and that’s hilarious,’ but there are always the same girls that are everyone’s favorite wrestlers. Rhea (Ripley) is always going to be everyone’s favorite wrestler. Stephanie (Vaquer) is always going to be everyone’s favorite wrestler.
“I’m used to that, and I support them, champion them, and they are my favorite wrestlers too, but to hear Undertaker saying my name and sticking up for little ol’ me, and saying it with such conviction. He did not hesitate for a second. He told me that in the text. What is my life! Undertaker!”
The Undertaker Showed His Faith In Chelsea Green Through AAA Booking
Green is thankful The Undertaker has had her back, and she knows he genuinely has faith in her through his booking of her in AAA, where she won the World Mixed Tag Team Title with Ethan Page.
“I’m so thankful because I feel like he really stood ten toes down on how he felt. At the end of the day, I know Undertaker has had my back because he booked me to win the Mixed AAA Tag Titles. He has believed in me since before Michael Hayes said that. Someone of that high status in wrestling, that means a lot to me. He doesn’t waste his breath on anyone.”
Chelsea Green is currently out of action with a broken ankle, but recently shared a positive update, saying she is on “a good trajectory to make a solid comeback.”
