Two-time WWE Women’s United States Champion Chelsea Green has revealed that she has suffered a serious injury.
Chelsea Green has confirmed she suffered a broken ankle following her most recent appearance on WWE television. Green last wrestled on the February 6 edition of SmackDown, where she competed in an Elimination Chamber qualifying match. She was scheduled to wrestle the following day at the AAA on FOX event, teaming with NXT North American Champion Ethan Page to defend the AAA World Mixed Tag Team Championships against Lola Vice and Mr Iguana.
However, the match did not go ahead as originally planned. During the broadcast, Page was shown backstage on a FaceTime call with Green, who was wearing a walking boot and confirmed she was not medically cleared to compete. Green later took to social media and revealed the extent of the injury, stating that she had broken her ankle.
The title match proceeded with a replacement, as La Hiedra stepped in to team with Page. The makeshift duo were unsuccessful, with Vice and Iguana capturing the AAA World Mixed Tag Team Championships.
How Long Will Chelsea Green Be Out Of Action?
It is currently unclear how long Chelsea Green will be sidelined or how the injury will affect her WWE plans. Earlier reports had suggested she was dealing with only a bruised ankle and would not miss significant time.
