Chavo Guerrero Jr. has announced that he has officially re-signed with WWE.
Speaking in an interview with Bill Apter, Chavo Guerrero Jr. confirmed that he has signed a deal with WWE to help produce AAA shows. Guerrero said:
“Yeah, I just re-signed with WWE. I’m helping out with their AAA shows and putting things together. I’m back with them.”
Speculation had been growing about Guerrero’s role in the company after he was spotted in the crowd at the WWE x AAA Worlds Collide pay-per-view that took place at Kia Forum in Inglewood, California, on June 7.
Guerrero has worked as a producer for AEW, AAA, TNA, GCW, and various other promotions, as well as still keeping semi-active in the ring.
Chavo Guerrero Jr.’s WWE History
Chavo Guerrero Jr. joined WWE in March 2001 as part of the WCW sale, as his contract, along with 24 others, was included in the sale of the company and was a part of the WCW/ECW invasion storyline. In 2002, he captured his first WWE title, winning the WWE Tag Team Championship alongside Eddie Guerrero as Los Guerreros, defeating Chris Benoit and Kurt Angle, and Edge and Rey Mysterio in a three-way elimination match.
He would capture the tag belts again with Eddie in 2003, and would go on to hold the Cruiserweight Title four times from 2004 till 2007, and captured the ECW Title in 2008 as part of WWE’s relaunch of the brand.
Chavo remained with WWE until 2011 after he was released at his request. He would go on to compete for TNA, AAA, Lucha Underground, AEW, ROH, and numerous independent promotions after leaving WWE.
