Charlotte Flair has revealed how a conversation with fellow WWE Superstar Natalya helped her come to terms with her father Ric Flair‘s controversial social media activity.
The 14-time WWE Women’s Champion has previously admitted to feeling embarrassed by some of her father’s public comments, particularly when he has criticised WWE’s creative decisions involving her.
However, Charlotte Flair now says she has developed a different perspective, recognising that Ric Flair’s outspoken behaviour comes from his desire to see her succeed. Speaking during an appearance on HeymanHustleTV’s The Roundtable, Charlotte discussed her father’s unwavering support and explained how Natalya helped change her outlook.
“There’s no one more proud. Like, he is my guy! Because, like, I was talking to Nattie the other day, and I was like, ‘If he just takes to Twitter one more time.’ … But then Nattie was like, ‘Dude, don’t you think your dad’s earned the right to?’ And I had a different perspective,” Charlotte recalled.
Charlotte Flair Explains Why She Has Accepted Ric Flair’s Social Media Behaviour
Ric Flair has frequently used social media and podcast appearances to defend his daughter, occasionally criticising WWE when he believes she isn’t getting the recognition or opportunities she deserves.
The two-time WWE Hall of Famer has also attracted controversy through his outspoken comments on other subjects. While Charlotte Flair previously found some of his online behaviour frustrating, she explained that Natalya’s comments encouraged her to reconsider how she reacted.
Since their conversation, Charlotte has made a conscious effort to be more understanding of her father’s public statements. She acknowledged that Ric has always been one of her biggest supporters and believes his comments reflect his confidence in her abilities.
“He really just wants better for me ’cause he knows how good I am, and not ’cause I’m his kid,” Charlotte explained.
Her comments suggest that while she may not always agree with how Ric expresses himself publicly, she has become more accepting of his approach. Charlotte has spent much of her WWE career establishing her own identity while carrying the legacy of one of professional wrestling’s most recognisable families.
Despite occasionally disagreeing with her father’s comments, she made it clear that their relationship remains strong. Meanwhile, Ric recently experienced a health scare after suffering a fall over the weekend.
The 77-year-old wrestling legend was reportedly rushed to hospital following the incident but has since been released. Ric later provided an update on his condition and addressed confusion about activity on his Facebook account.
According to Flair, he is no longer responsible for posts on the account, saying he lost control of it to a digital talent agency.
