WWE Intercontinental Champion Chad Gable believes The Undertaker could help spark a “revolution” on WWE’s main roster following his experience working with the wrestling legend in AAA.
The Undertaker has been working behind the scenes as a producer in AAA and was heavily involved in planning and executing Chad Gable’s storyline around the El Grande Americano character.
Speaking on Huge Pop with Donny DaSilva and Jimmy Korderas, Gable explained that his experience working with The Undertaker helped change the way he approached matches.
“It was the most feeling it in the moment I’ve ever done in my entire career,” Gable said. “The cool answer would be, ‘We didn’t go over anything.’ Really, it was just feeling. The lucha libre crowd are so passionate that they allow you to feel comfortable doing that. Just going out and performing like nowhere else I’ve ever gone.”
Gable credited The Undertaker with helping him become more confident in trusting his instincts rather than worrying about having every aspect of a match planned beforehand.
“I credit the Undertaker a ton of times throughout the fallout to this match for pulling that out of me. The ability and willingness to go out there and feel it, and not worry so much.”
Chad Gable Believes The Undertaker Could Help WWE Main Roster
Chad Gable explained that adopting that mentality required him to trust the experience he has gained throughout his wrestling career, as well as drawing from his amateur wrestling background.
“Part of that is being a pro and trusting your instincts and what you’ve done for thirteen years, and also relying on your amateur background,” he said.
Gable believes the advice he received from The Undertaker could have a significant impact if it was also shared with WWE’s main roster.
“I don’t want to volunteer Undertaker for anything, but if he could give that same speech that he gave to me, I can’t even use the words he used in some of the speeches he gave to me to pull it out of me, but if he could give that to the main roster and really get through to people, we’d see a revolution. It’s been great.”
The Undertaker’s behind-the-scenes work in AAA has given him the opportunity to help talent with the psychological side of their performances, and Gable believes his experience working with the WWE Hall of Famer has changed his approach in the ring.
