The NFL’s Cam Skattebo is taking some heat for appearing on Raw this week.
The running back got into it on camera with Dominik Mysterio, Finn Balor and JD McDonagh when The Judgment Day mocked The New York Giants and their record so far this season. Mysterio shoved comedian Andrew Schulz. Skattebo came to his defense standing nose to nose with Mysterio. Skattebo shoved JD McDonagh to the ground. Everyone then began throwing hands.
Skattebo, who is nicknamed “Nature Boy” by his fellow players, was injured when he was tackled during a game against the Philadelphia Eagles. He is out for the rest of the season after suffering a dislocated ankle, a fractured fibula and a ruptured deltoid ligament.
Some fans and media criticized Skattebo for appearing in the physical segment on Raw when he cannot play ball while some supported him having fun with the WWE.
Skattebo responded by posting on social media: “Aye, honestly if you don’t like that I’m having a good time while dealing with a tough time, then just go ahead and unfollow and casually move on. I’m not able to play football and have the fun I’ve been having my whole life so I am doing things outside the box trying to find stuff to keep me happy. Enjoy the rest of y’all’s week and just don’t talk about me if you ain’t got nothing nice to say,” he wrote.
He also reassured fans that he wasn’t risking his health by appearing in WWE.
“Trust me, wouldn’t do anything to jeopardize anything,” he said maintaining that his injured leg, foot was not planted on the ground, not in any danger during the segment.
