C.J. Perry, better known to WWE fans as Lana, has accused her husband, Rusev, of serving her divorce papers on her birthday.
Speaking on the debut episode of her podcast, “Identity Crisis“, C.J. Perry was joined by her guest and husband, Rusev. In the episode, they discussed many topics relating to pro wrestling and relationships. One topic in particular was their high-profile separation in 2023, and Perry alleged that “The Bulgarian Brute” served her divorce papers on her birthday, March 24, 2024. Perry said:
“He served divorce papers on my birthday, this is shoot. He literally [served papers on my birthday.]”
However, he quickly denied this allegation and joked that his wife was stealing CM Punk’s “storyline”, likely referencing Punk’s claims that WWE sent him his release papers on the day of his wedding in 2014. Rusev said:
“It was not on her birthday. She’s taking the CM Punk storyline… This is not true though!”
Are C.J. Perry And Rusev Still Married?
Despite their separation in 2023, C.J. Perry Rusev and are still married, and it was announced in March this year that they are still together and have even renewed their wedding vows. It is not known exactly why the couple separated, other than them stating that they “simply grew apart”.
