Bruce Prichard has responded to a viral clip from WWE Unreal that showed him snapping at producer Chris Park during a live broadcast, pushing back on criticism that labelled him a bully.
Speaking on Something To Wrestle, Bruce Prichard said the reaction came from people who do not understand the pressure of live television, while also praising Park, known to wrestling fans as Abyss.
“There’s cameras everywhere. You forget there’s cameras on you. It’s live TV,” Prichard said. “You know who they’re going to come to at the end of the day if the show doesn’t work or doesn’t go off on time. They come to me. I’m responsible for it. So when in communication, sometimes things get lost.”
He also suggested the clip lacked full context.
“The beauty of documentaries and editing is you can create stories, and you don’t get the whole story all the time,” he said. “Anybody who knows Chris Park knows what a wonderful human being he is. He’s one of the sweetest guys on the face of the earth, extremely talented and really good at what he does.”
Prichard explained that in live television situations, he needs direct, clear answers rather than long explanations.
“If I ask you what time it is, I don’t want the history of watchmaking. I just need a number,” he said. “If I ask how much time we have left, I don’t want to hear we’re getting close. Just tell me.”
He added that situations like that occur regularly during live broadcasts and insisted there was no ill intent behind the exchange.
“Anybody that takes that for being a bully, you’ve never worked in live television,” Prichard said. “Life’s tough, and sometimes you’ve got to be able to take it or get out. Chris can take it, and he does a damn good job.”
What Did Bruce Prichard Text Vince McMahon After WrestleMania 30?
Bruce Prichard said he was strongly opposed to ending The Undertaker’s undefeated WrestleMania streak, revealing he still dislikes the decision today. Prichard said that while Brock Lesnar was credible enough to break the streak, he wishes it had never happened. He explained that he had watched the streak grow from the early days of The Undertaker character and believed it should have remained “pure forever.”
Prichard said he even texted Vince McMahon the morning after WrestleMania 30 to express his disappointment, though he acknowledged McMahon had his reasons. He later joked that the streak should have ended with Giant Gonzalez, a comment that prompted laughter from The Undertaker.
