Bron Breakker and Oba Femi are officially set to go one-on-one at WWE Sunday Night’s Main Event next month.
The match was confirmed during Monday’s episode of Raw following several weeks of confrontations between Bron Breakker and Oba Femi over who represents the future of WWE. Breakker came to the ring and called out Femi, but Paul Heyman appeared instead. Heyman raised the question of who WWE’s future is, prompting Breakker to demand an answer.
Before Heyman could respond, Femi made his way to the ring and dismissed Breakker’s question. Femi said everyone already knew who the future of WWE was, declaring that the answer was Oba Femi.
Breakker was prepared to fight Femi immediately, but Heyman stepped in and prevented the confrontation from becoming physical. He then revealed that the match had already been made official for Sunday Night’s Main Event in Atlanta, Georgia, on September 6.
The segment ended with Heyman shaking Breakker’s hand, then offering his hand to Femi, which Femi accepted.
Paul Heyman Teasing Union With Oba Femi Following Brock Lesnar’s Retirement
Paul Heyman’s interactions with Oba Femi come after a change in his relationship with The Vision.
For much of the past year, Heyman was aligned with Bron Breakker as part of the faction. However, he has recently distanced himself from the group, allowing its members to operate independently while he turned his attention towards Brock Lesnar.
Heyman became involved in the build towards Lesnar’s Hell in a Cell match against Femi at SummerSlam. Femi ultimately defeated Lesnar in the match, with Lesnar raising his opponent’s hand afterwards before announcing his retirement days later.
Since Lesnar’s defeat and retirement, Heyman has adopted a more conciliatory approach towards Femi, adding another element to his developing rivalry with Breakker.
Breakker vs. Femi is the second match confirmed for Sunday Night’s Main Event.
Cody Rhodes will also face Randy Orton at the September 6 event.
