The Beast has officially donned his wrestling tights for the last time.
He announced his retirement on The Pat McAfee Show today.
“I’m here today to to to do this interview to let the world and everybody know that that I am retired and I wanted to say a big thank you to everybody,” Lesnar began.
He confirmed that SummerSlam was a very emotional day for him knowing he was leaving the ring for good.
“When Oba Femi slammed me at WrestleMania I was like: ‘I cannot do this again. I think am done.’ I still had some fuel in the tank but Saturday for Brock Lesnar, that’s it. That is it for me in the squared circle,” he said.
He thanked his friends, fans and supporters.
“I just want to give a shoutout to everybody in this universe that has followed me from since I was a little kid all the way until Saturday. I was just a farm kid from South Dakota with a big dream and a big heart and a big ass chip on my shoulder. I’m just grateful. Grateful to be 49-years-old and to have been able to do what I did in this lifetime. I thank God and everybody that supported me. I want to thank all my coaches and I want to especially say to the little kids I was just a farm kid with a bunch of lint in my pocket and I had big dreams and I just worked. I think a lot of people nowadays with social media platform athletes for doing things but they don’t they leave out the hard work. If kids just stay focused on work and putting the time in good things will happen,” he said.
As far as the future, Lesnar just wants to heal up and relax.
“I’m just going to enjoy life. I spent the last two days in bed after getting ran over by Oba Femi I’m 49 years old and it’s time,” he said.
