Bryan Danielson does not appear to be preparing for another return to the ring, according to his wife, Brie Bella.
Speaking during an interview with Sal Licata, Brie Bella explained that Bryan Danielson has embraced life away from in-ring competition and has been instrumental in supporting her own full-time wrestling comeback.
Bella revealed that Danielson encouraged her to return to the ring and even agreed to help coach her through the process despite the demands it would place on their family.
“For me, I’m lucky because my husband is so supportive. Because he retired from in-ring, it gave me the opportunity to come back. When I started to realize his schedule, I was like, ‘I really want to make a comeback. I want you to be my coach. I really want to train hard, it’s going to be a lot of work, but will you be able to deal with the schedule?’ He was like, ‘Yes, 100%.’ So, I honestly couldn’t do it without him. I feel so blessed.”
Brie Bella Says Bryan Danielson Has Been Playing A Larger Role At Home While She Has Been On The Road With WWE
Brie Bella also praised Bryan Danielson for taking on a larger role at home while she has been travelling with WWE.
“He’s been picking up all those times when it was just the kids and I. It’s funny because I’m like, ‘You’re like Pinterest dad.’ He’s crushing it. The homemade meals, the fun snacks, the arts and crafts. He’s doing a great job. But honestly, I couldn’t do it without his support because he allows me to come out here and do what I love.”
Danielson’s last televised match came in October 2024 at AEW WrestleDream, when he lost the AEW World Championship to Jon Moxley. Although he later wrestled an eight-second dark match victory over Max Caster on the June 25, 2025 AEW Collision TV tapings, he has not competed regularly since stepping away from full-time in-ring action.
Bella, meanwhile, returned to WWE competition earlier this year at the 2026 Royal Rumble after several years away from full-time wrestling and went on to capture the WWE Women’s Tag Team Championships alongside Paige at WrestleMania 42 Night One.
